No rules, no limits
SilviaEly’s artistic practice emerges from the encounter between image, matter and transformation. Through painting, live actions and visual interventions, she develops a language that investigates the tension between fragility and strength, control and rupture, surface and physical presence.
Strongly influenced by the Italian aesthetic tradition and the wild landscape of the Canary Islands, her work moves between the pictorial and the performative, integrating unconventional materials, fragmented supports and processes of continuous experimentation.

SilviaEly’s practice explores the point at which image, matter and experience intersect.
While rooted in painting, her work gradually moved beyond the limits of the conventional picture plane toward a broader investigation of transformation, physical presence and audience perception. Rather than treating the artwork as a fixed object, she approaches it as a living process in which materials, space, sound, vibration and human interaction become active components of the final piece.
Central to her practice is the idea that transformation leaves visible traces. Fragmented supports, structural irregularities and altered surfaces are not concealed but embraced as evidence of change. Through processes of construction, disruption and reconfiguration, discarded or overlooked materials acquire new meaning, revealing unexpected relationships between fragility, tension and resilience.
This exploration extends beyond the studio into participatory performances, live painting actions and site-specific interventions. In these works, the audience is invited to become part of the experience, not merely as observers but as participants whose presence influences the work itself. Sound frequencies, movement, bodily action and environmental conditions are often incorporated as tools capable of shaping both material outcomes and emotional responses.
Influenced by the visual heritage of Italy and the raw landscape of the Canary Islands, SilviaEly investigates how matter can carry memory, emotion and transformation. Her work exists between image and object, permanence and change, inviting viewers to reconsider the physical and perceptual boundaries of contemporary visual art.

SilviaEly is an Italian multidisciplinary artist currently based in Fuerteventura, Spain.
Her artistic education began in Italy, where she studied art, graphic design and sculpture, developing a technical foundation connected to both visual arts and hands-on material practice.
During the early stages of her career, she combined her artistic practice with design projects, mural painting and commissioned works, experiences that allowed her to work across different contexts while expanding her visual and technical approach.
In 2016, she relocated to Fuerteventura, a turning point that profoundly shaped the evolution of her practice. The island environment and the need to rebuild her own creative space encouraged a gradual transition toward a more personal, independent and experimental artistic research.
From this period onward, she began developing works on recycled supports and fragmented surfaces, integrating reclaimed materials and processes of image construction and deconstruction. At the same time, she expanded her practice into live actions, installations and participatory projects connected to the physical experience of space and audience interaction.
Her background also includes mural interventions, collaborative projects, artistic teaching and participation in various international contemporary art contexts.
Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions, performances and contemporary art projects across Europe, the United States and Latin America.
