Paintings & Live paintings
Painting constitutes the core of SilviaEly’s practice, understood not as a static representation, but as a field in which the image emerges through matter, fragmentation, and the tension of the support.
Her pictorial works are developed on reclaimed and structurally altered surfaces, where figurative imagery coexists with the physical irregularity of the material. Portraits, organic elements, and references to nature are integrated into a visual language in which the rupture of the support is not a form of damage, but an essential component of the work itself.
Within this context, painting is understood as a space of continuous transformation, where the image does not impose itself upon matter, but rather emerges from it.
Live Paintings
In parallel, live paintings extend this investigation into real time. The work is activated in relation to the environment, music, or the energetic context, transforming the pictorial process into a performative event. The image is constructed in front of the audience, incorporating temporality, improvisation, and presence as fundamental elements of the final outcome.
In this way, painting is not limited to the finished object, but expands into a living dimension, where the act of painting becomes an essential part of the work itself.
